Our comments: The suitable pizzas are the Vegan Giardiniera (with vegan mozzarella alternative) and the Pianta (comes without cheese). The Margherita, Padana, Soho 65 and Veneziana pizzas can also be vegan if ordered with vegan mozzarella alternative rather than the cheese(s) they are normally topped with. The other vegan options are.
Starters: Marinated olives, roasted tomatoes, dough balls (garlic butter replaced with olive oil), bruschetta originale (without garlic butter & pesto).
Main: Superfood salad (without dressing).

Our comments: Carvery chain restaurant with three labelled vegan main options: Portobello mushroom bullseye tart (suet pastry case filled with a mushroom sauce, topped with a portobello mushroom), pepper & pomegranate tart (shortcrust pastry with sesame & pumpkin seeds, filled with sautéed sweet peppers, red onions & pomegranate, topped with giant couscous, mint & chilli) and spiced carrot & chickpea wellington (chickpeas, carrots & lentils spiced with crushed chillis, wrapped in wholegrain mustard puff pastry). Ask for freshly steamed vegetables, without the glaze. The roast potatoes and veggie gravy are suitable for vegans. There is also a suitable dessert: Vanilla rice pudding (warm, made with coconut milk and topped with raspberries in sauce).

Pasta: Vegan lentil ragu, vegan spaghetti pomodoro. (Additions: Artichokes, fire roasted peppers, field mushrooms, black olives, red chillies, roasted red onions, spinach, pine nuts.)
Sides: Fried herby potatoes, Tenderstem broccoli, mixed leaf, tomato & spring onion salad, green beans, Italian naked slaw, lentil ragu.

Our comments: Harvester restaurants have labelled vegan options. The suitable mains are aubergine & red lentil tagine (giant couscous cooked with apricots, raisins, coriander & red pepper, topped with a Moroccan-inspired spiced stew, with flat bread & houmous), penne arrabiata (with black olives & grilled kapia pepper) and stuffed red pepper (stuffed with sweet potato, black bean & quinoa chilli, with golden rice & beans and sweet potato fries). The vegan sides are fries, sage & onion seasoned fries, sweet potato fries, golden rice & beans. For dessert you can have the coconut & black cherry rice pudding. The breakfast menu is served until 11.30am and the Hipster breakfast is labelled vegan. This consists of two hash browns, two vegan sausages, grilled tomato, flat mushroom, spinach, baked beans, avocado & a roasted red pepper dip.

The chips, skin-on fries, homemade potato wedges and onion rings may be suitable; ask if they have a dedicated fryer for vegan dishes. Soya milk is available for coffees and other drinks. There is always a labelled vegan cake available, this changes seasonally. The soups, when available are usually suitable and there are salad options, some labelled as vegan. The salads are interesting and substantial. Soya milk is available for drinks. Any of the frappes that are not white chocolate can be made vegan. The hot chocolate is suitable but not the powder they sprinkle on top but if you order a soya milk hot chocolate they don’t normally put it on anyway. The spiced chai is not vegan.

They have a Vegan Society trade marked fruity crumble snack but otherwise food options are very limited. Soya milk drinks are available but not all of them are vegan. The babyccino, hot chocolate and mocha options are not suitable. The teas and most of the other hot coffees including chai, vanilla, caramel, roasted hazelnut and gingerbread lattes are vegan. Their website lists what food and drinks are suitable for vegans.

Pizza Hut change the ingredients in their pizza bases frequently and their website does not say what is suitable for vegans. Check the book at restaurants to see if there are any suitable bases for pizzas without cheese or other dishes. The staff at their head office and takeaways do not seem knowledgeable about or have up to date information about which of their products are vegan or not.
